M-BAR-T

In 2009 we had a record number of students participate in the M-BAR-T program. Thank you to everyone how joined us on the mountain! We will begin accepting 2009-10 M-BAR-T applications this fall at the end of the first grading period.

Moonlight Basin feels strongly about continued involvement and participation in our greater region. We see Montana’s youth as being the future of this great state and so we’ve formed the Moonlight Basin Aspirations Reward Team (M-BAR-T). With M-BAR-T, not only do we reach out to our community and stay involved in our region, but we also encourage students to strive for academic improvement and to experience the benefits of outdoor recreation.

M-BAR-T is available to all students of public and private schools in Gallatin, Madison, Beaverhead, Park, and Sweet Grass counties. That's over 60 schools! Along with a complimentary season pass to Moonlight Basin, we are happy to extend a $15 equipment rental to any student with an active M-BAR-T season pass.
There will be a $15 administrative processing fee for all 2008/2009 M-BAR-T applications.

What is M-BAR-T?

Our aspirations program is an incentive-based program designed to encourage grade improvement and to reward students for achieving honor roll standards by giving them season passes to ski Moonlight Basin.

Our goal with M-BAR-T is to:

Inspire young people to achieve academic growth and excellence
Provide outdoor recreational opportunities to the area's youth
Promote skiing as a lifelong activity to be shared with the family
Allow young people to experience the beauty, freedom, and physical challenge of snow sports.

Public School Program

How to qualify:

The student shows an overall grade improvement of 0.2 (On the 4.0 scale) from one grading period to the next.
The students are on the honor roll (3.0 GPA or higher).

How does a student apply?

Submit a season pass application signed by a parent
Supply a copy of their most recent transcript
Pay $15 administration fee
Re-submit transcripts by January 30th to avoid deactivation

Home School Program

How to qualify:

Home school student with a "complete composite National Stanine (NS)" score of 7 or above on his/her 2008 Spring Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS).
