Our Story

Moonlight Basin Aspiration Reward Team (M-BAR-T)

The future of Montana is in our state’s youth. At Moonlight Basin, we encourage academic excellence in our five local counties by rewarding good students with free passes. We believe the mountains are simply a good place to grow up: skiing and snowboarding inspire camaraderie, family togetherness, and respect for nature, all while burning calories and improving motor skills. Through our M-BAR-T program, Moonlight Basin awards a free season pass to those students grades 6-12 year who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or improve their grades by .2. All passes include complimentary fresh air, goggle tans, and an improved attitude.

Skyline Bus
At Moonlight Basin, we’re happy to give our neighbors a lift. By sponsoring the Skyline Link from Bozeman to Big Sky, Moonlight ensures that low-emission, low-hassle transportation is free of charge for all riders. The Skyline Link saves a significant 25 tons of CO2 emissions from polluting Montana’s blue skies. Eliminating 2,483 car trips up the Canyon in just January alone, keeping Highway 191 a safe and scenic drive.

Carpooling Incentive: Share the Ride, Get More Goods

Even if you can’t make it to Moonlight Basin via our free Skyline bus, there’s still an admirable way to help us combat traffic and pollution on our state’s scenic roadways. Arrive at Moonlight Basin with four or more people in your vehicle, and we’ll reward your commitment to keeping emissions low and conserving natural resources –twice over. First, everyone who carpools with four or more friends earns a chance to enter our three winter drawings. For our first drawing, one lucky carpooler wins a new deck or skis; for the second, ski or board bindings; and our final drawing winner takes home a helmet with a pair of goggles.
To participate, pick up vouchers at the new Welcome Entryway, fill out the form to enter in our drawing for new gear. The form may be dropped off at the Headwaters Grille, the Border Café, or the Entryway. Carpool all season for three chances of winning a winter gear. We’ll be drawing:
- December 19th- January 31: Snowboard or skis
- February 1st- March 14th: Bindings
- March 15th- April 12th: Helmet with Goggles

HATCH

Moonlight Basin is the founding sponsor of HATCH, a year-round program designed to develop and foster the growth of creative minds through mentorship. Since its inception in 2004, HATCH has successfully supported the creativity and innovation of young artists throughout the world by connecting new filmmakers, musicians, photographers, designers, architects, writers, and fine artists with movers and shakers in the entertainment industry.
