Moonlight Basin Freeride Team

NEW for 2009-2010, Moonlight Basin is excited to offer a “Freeride Team” training program. Building on our very successful All Mountain Kids program, the “Freeride Team” has been developed for those that have regularly participated in our AMK program or are new to Rail Jam

Moonlight Basin and want to explore the more competitive side to SnowSports. The program will encompass park and big mountain. Each session will be focused on developing technical & tactical skills, terrain/feature knowledge, and athlete safety.

As well as the skills mentioned above the program seeks to provide athletes with opportunities for personal growth within a team environment, coaches will seek to develop their athletes into well rounded individuals that will develop skills that will assist them not only within the program but also in to the future. Athletes will be asked to define season goals in a number of areas, then work with their coaches to develop a pathway to realize them.

Moonlight Basin’s terrain truly defines the term “free riding”. Now it’s time to take it to the next level and unleash the potential that lies within. Our coaches are well versed in the world of free riding; they live and breathe the sport. One of our goals is to pass this passion on.

Who: The program is open to athletes aged, 7 – 17yrs

Meeting Place: Madison Base Area

Day/Time: Saturdays, 9:00am – 3:00pm

Frequency: 16 weeks. Saturday Dec 19th, 2009 - Saturday April 3rd, 2010

Program Fee: 16 week program + One Holiday Camp* $750.00

Camp Dates: Camp 1: Dec 27/28 & 30/31; Camp 2: Feb 15/16 & 18/19; Camp 3: Mar 15/16 & 18/19

Lunch: Lunch is not included, please ensure arrangements are made.

Ratio: 1 coach to 6 athletes, maximum.

* Program fee includes one four day holiday camp. Please indicate which camp you wish to attend on the registration form.

Headwaters

Please be aware that lower level groups will be coached in the fundamentals of Free riding until they reach an ability level that will allow them to safely move into more advanced terrain.

Lift tickets are required for all athletes. Athletes 10yrs and under ski for free at Moonlight Basin and can obtain a season pass through the Season Pass Office. Our legendary M-BAR-T program is an option for athletes over 10yrs. Visit the M-BAR-T webpage to learn more about this program.
