Rent skates for $5 from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily at the Mountain Concierge desk in Moonlight Lodge. Take a break from skating and enjoy the warmth around the Lodge's indoor fireplace or relax by the rink-side patio that's bathed in the glow of our special heat lamps. Snowshoe Rental & Trail PassAs easy as walking, snowshoeing lets you experience the peaceful natural nooks & crannies of the Rockies that are available only to snowshoers. You’ll revel in a personal back-to-nature walk surrounded only by wildlife, stunning scenery, and occasional snow blowing off the branches on Moonlight Basin’s own designated snowshoe trails.Our trails are open from 10 a.m. to 3:30p.m., 7 days a week during the winter season. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced loops are available. Pick your loop or do it all! Snowshoe rentals and trail passes are available through the Mountain Concierge at the Madison Village Base Area. It’s home to almost every large animal found in Montana, including elk, moose, whitetail and mule deer, bighorn sheep, wolves, mountain goats, wolverines, black bears, and grizzlies. There’s more, including a significant number of amphibian, reptile, and bird species.We encourage you to discover the wonder of these amazing creatures – from a safe distance – as all wildlife can be unpredictable.
