Moonlight Basin Activities New to the sport or looking for a fun and exciting way to explore fly fishing in our area? This summer Moonlight Basin offers new programs focused on introducing our guests to the world of fly fishing and our blue ribbon rivers - all in a relaxed educational setting. Don't miss your chance to get your line wet and prepare to land that elusive trout. Horseback Riding Looking for a unique experience to highlight your visit to the Big Sky? Book a horseback ride with Cedar Mountain Corrals at Moonlight Basin. Explore trails that previously have never been accessible to the public on horseback, including Lee Metcalf Wilderness, Beehive Basin, North Fork drainage, and Bear Basin. Yoga on the Deck Prepare for your day on the mountain with morning yoga on the deck of the Moonlight Lodge with local yoga instructor, Delilah Eakman. Delilah's Yoga on the Deck will address balance, breath, alignment, the core, flexibility in the hips and knees, upper body alignment and strength. These exercises will be done in a fun, creative and inclusive manner while enjoying the fresh mountain air. Guided Hikes If you would like a guided exploration of Moonlight Basin’s flora and fauna, join our very own wildlife specialist, Marc Glines for a guided hike. These informative explorations start at 9am every Wednesday and Saturday until September 12th. All hikes leave from the Mountain Concierge desk located in the Moonlight Lodge. Hike typically last one hour and are suitable for children 10 and older. Special days and times are available upon request, please contact our Mountain Concierge for availability. Our informative Mountain Concierge can offer recommendations on surrounding rivers or introduce you to a local fishing guide who can show you his/her favorite spots. Custom clinics and guided fishing trips are available. Hikes In and Around Big Sky If wide open landscapes, beautiful wildflowers and abundant wildlife viewing peak your interest, then hiking around Big Sky and Moonlight Basin is for you. Our system of trails offer excursions for all levels - whether it be a vigorous workout or a relaxing stroll. Kayaking Go with the flow as you navigate regional placid streams or whitewater rapids.
