Parks & Features

The Zero Gravity Terrain Park and Zero Gravity Pony Park are considered freestyle terrain. Freestyle terrain at Moonlight Basin is defined as areas dedicated to terrain parks or terrain features – which may include jumps, hits, ramps, fun boxes, jibs and rails.

The Zero Gravity Terrain Park offers Medium and Large features. The Zero Gravity Pony Park offers Small and Medium features. A feature’s level of difficulty may change with changing conditions, placement, approach, takeoff and landing zone.

The Zero Gravity Terrain Park is located directly under the Six Shooter lift. To access the Zero Gravity Terrain Park, take Elkhorn (Intermediate ) to Park Avenue (Intermediate ) from either the Six Shooter or Iron Horse Lifts. An alternate route is to take Runaway (Advanced•) from the Six Shooter lift to the Park entrance.

Make a Plan

Features within both Zero Gravity Terrain Parks are set up under a progression park philosophy. Riders that are new to freestyle terrain should Start Small. The Zero Gravity Pony Park offers small and medium features. The Zero Gravity Pony Park is the perfect setting for riders new to freestyle terrain, or for riders looking to perfect their skills before moving on to Large features. Moonlight Basin strives to offer a selection of features all riders will enjoy. As conditions permit, features are regularly added, changed and relocated to elevate the park experience.

The Zero Gravity Pony Park is located directly under the Pony Express lift. To access the Zero Gravity Terrain Park, take Lazy Jack (Beginner •) to Pony Express (Beginner •) from the Pony Express, Six Shooter or Iron Horse Lifts.

Safety in our terrain park and on our terrain features is a top priority. Terrain parks and features offer adventure, challenge and fun. Freestyle terrain, like other terrain at the ski area, exposes you to risk of serious injury or even death. Be aware that there are elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Do your part by acting in a responsible manner, having a plan before you use freestyle terrain, familiarizing yourself with all instructions and warnings and following the “Smart Style" code.

Terrain Park Safety

Make a Plan

  • Every time you use Freestyle Terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use.
  • Your speed, approach and takeoff will directly affect your maneuver and landing.

Make a Plan

  • Before getting into freestyle terrain observe all signage and warnings
  • Scope around the jumps first not over them
  • Use your first run as a warm up run and to familiarize yourself with the terrain
  • Be aware that the features change constantly due to weather, usage, grooming and time of day
  • Do not jump blindly and use a spotter when necessary

Make a Plan

  • Know your limits and ski/ride within your ability level
  • Start in the Zero Gravity Pony Park or look for or features to begin with and work your way up
  • Freestyle skills require maintaining control on the ground and in the air
  • Do not attempt any features unless you have sufficient ability and experience to do so safely
  • Inverted aerials increase your risk of injury and are not recommended

Make a Plan

  • Respect the terrain and others
  • One person on a feature at a time
  • Wait your turn and call your start
  • Always clear the landing area quickly
  • Respect all signs and stay off closed terrain and features
