Welcome to Moonlight Basin![]() Take a deep breath: pure, fresh mountain air. That’s where Moonlight Basin’s legendary 400 inches of light dry powder begins its unhurried journey towards our slopes. Every winter, our mountain is transformed into a frosty 5,500-acre playground of invigorating steeps and chutes, cultivated groomers and bowls, and tree glades sprinkled with wildlife tracks. With 4,275 vertical feet of pure white terrain to explore, Moonlight Basin remains remarkably uncrowded. When the snow eventually melts, golfers celebrate at our par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, The Reserve. Here, our elevation at 7,500 feet launches golf balls even farther. The Reserve at Moonlight Basin blends seamlessly into the alpine environment – even deer and rabbits frequently cross the green. Guests can delve into Moonlight Basin’s surrounding wilderness daily: snowshoeing, cross country skiing and hiking trails meander through whitebark pine and around mountain lakes. Our region hosts every type of outdoor recreation imaginable, from famous fly-fishing to scenic paragliding. We’re also just up the road to the world’s geothermal masterpiece: Yellowstone National Park, where hot-springs, wildlife, cross-country trails and snowmobile adventures lure visitors from across the globe. While we relish our setting off the beaten path, we also enjoy finer creature comforts at Moonlight Basin. Our guests can choose from an assortment of ski-in, ski-out cabins, slopeside chalets, and convenient suites, all with exceptional service and rustic touches. Our refreshing spa offers treatments ranging from a quick massage to a full bridal package. Rounding off the experience with an epicurean’s dream of tasty restaurants, Moonlight Basin is the ideal place to unwind. Indeed, our mountain home is a breath of fresh air. |
