Dog Sledding
Experience the beauty of Moonlight Basin in an
unforgettable adventure - a dog sled trip from
Spirit of the North. By dog sled, you’ll gain access to
stunning landscape normally closed to the public. It’s
a truly unique form of winter travel! Dog sled trips are
offered by Spirit of the North.
Cross Country Skiing
Experience the beauty of Montana’s finest terrain by
gliding through some of the most breathtaking trails
in North America. Lone Mountain Ranch, only 10
miles away, is home to the number one Nordic trail system in North
America. West Yellowstone also offersmany miles of cross country skiing
and access intoYellowstone National Park.
Sleigh Rides
Go dashing through the snow in a one-horse open
sleigh and experience our winter wonderland in
a brand-new way. Try one of the area’s sleigh ride
dinners for a memorable winter evening.
Snowmobiling
Appreciate winter thrills and stunning landscapes,
including trails through Yellowstone National Park,
from the unique perspective of one of these incredible
machines.
Snowshoeing
As easy as walking, snowshoeing lets you experience
what most people will never see. Get back to nature
one step at a time with nothing but the wildlife,
scenery, and occasional snow blowing off the branches
on Moonlight Basin’s own designated snowshoe trails.
Our trails are open from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 7 days
a week during winter season. Beginner, Intermediate
and Advanced loops are available. Pick your loop or do

Ice Skating
Give in to nostalgia and discover the exhilaration
of skating under the sun or the stars on Moonlight
Lodge’s outdoor mini ice skating rink. Whether
you’re a spectator or taking a break from skating, warm
up around the fire or under our special heat lamps
on the patio adjacent to the rink. Rentals are available
for $5 from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily from the Mountain
Concierge inside the Moonlight Lodge.
IMAX Theatre – West Yellowstone
IMAX’s six-story screen with 12,000 watts of digital
surround sound brings the wonders of Yellowstone
up close and personal. Pairing this incredible
technology with one of the true wonders of the world
leaves visitors breathless.
Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center – West Yellowstone
You won’t be able to take your eyes away… watch
close-up while bears move boulders, climb trees and
actively search for hidden food! The Center is a notfor-
profit rescue facility for both grizzlies and wolves.
Films, presentations, and an interpretive museum
make this a great experience for the whole family! The
center is open year round from 8 a.m. to dusk.
